High current medium voltage disconnectors
Disconnectors are used in outdoor or indoor switching stations for the insulation in the absence of current, disconnection or earthing of electric line sections or of the other electric station equipment in order to carry out changes of the connection, line inspection or maintenance. The disconnector and the earthing switch are connected to the other devices in the station through electrical interlocking in order to prevent from incorrect manipulation. The earthing switch is designed for the same short-circuit resistance as the disconnector current path.
The disconnector and the earthing switch are controlled with drives (one drive for the disconnector, another drive for the earthing switch), which are located on an auxiliary construction. Drives can be pneumatic, motor or manual. Different drives are independent and exchangeable one another. The signalling of the disconnector or earthing switch position is electric.
The disconnectors fulfill the requirements of Standard EN 62271-102 - „Alternating current disconnectors and earthing switches".
The disconnectors are characterized with:
- Rated voltage: 1 – 123 kV
- Rated current: 100 – 8000 A (or higher current- we could offer according to the customers inquiry)
- Rated shorttime current 1s (3s): 16 – 120 kA
- Rated dynamic current: 40 – 300 kA
- Rated frequency: 50 Hz (16 Hz, 60 Hz)
- Mechanical endurance: 2000, 5000, 10000 (60000) C-O
