A multi-range indoor termination for single-core 12 and 24 kV XLPE cables - when used on three-core cables, cable breakout is necessary. Special fixing clamps for fastening the cable are available.

Multi-range terminations are terminations using one size of insulating body which can cover up to five conductor cross-sections and allows use of both compression cable lugs and screw-type cable lugs. The one-piece insulating body of the SEHDI and SEI indoor terminations is a homogenous dielectric without any interfaces being subjected to additional electrical stress.

Interfaces with electrical stress areas always need to be considered as especially critical and require special care when the parts are being manufactured and installed.

The material used for the insulating bodies has a relatively low Shore A hardness value. This makes it possible for the insulating body to easily adapt to any unevenness of the core of the XLPE cable that may be caused when the fix-bonded insulation screen is stripped off. The insulating bodies of the indoor terminations are provided with sheds so that they are suitable for applications in environments with higher humidity levels and temporary moisture condensation levels that exceed the requirements of the DIN VDE 0101 specifications. Stress control is effected by means of a stress control element integrated into the insulating bodies, operating on a refractive or geometric principle.

The indoor terminations fulfill the requirements of DIN VDE 0278-629-1.
